Symptom:

Webmail in Plesk 8.1 for Fedora 4 and CentOS 4 doesn't work as expected or at all.

Reason:

It is due to a bug in Plesk 8.1 for Fedora 4 and CentOS 4 after finishing the Plesk questionnaire the localhost localhost.localdomain entries are removed from your /etc/hosts file.

An example of a broken hosts file would be:

127.0.0.1 ip-10-2-98-190.ip.secureserver.net ip-10-2-98-190

Solution:

Add the localhost localhost.localdomain entries back into your /etc/hosts file.

An example correct hosts file would be:

127.0.0.1 ip-10-2-98-190.ip.secureserver.net ip-10-2-98-190 localhost localhost.localdomain

NOTE: If you are running Plesk 8.1 and provisioned or reprovisioned your server before March 7, 2007, you may experience this issue. This Plesk bug does not affect newly provisioned servers.
