Can I use your email account if I host my domain name with 1&1?

Yes, but you will have to direct your Mail Exchange (MX) records to point to our servers.

To Change Your MX Records for Your 1&1 Account

  1. Log in to the 1&1 control panel at admin.1and1.com.
    If you have more than one contract, select the package you want to edit. The Package Features window displays.
  2. In the Package Features window, select Domains.
  3. Select the domain name you want to use.
  4. In the DNS menu, select Edit DNS Settings.
    The DNS Settings details display.
  5. In the Advanced DNS Settings section, select Other mail server for the Mail server (MX record).
  6. In the MX 1 field, type smtp.secureserver.net., and then type 0 in the Prio field.
  7. In the MX 2 field, type mailstore1.secureserver.net. and then type 10 in the Prio field.
  8. To receive confirmation, click OK.
