Setting up WebSite Tonight for the First Time

Setting up your Web site with WebSite Tonight is quick and easy. You enter your site settings, select your site type and design, and you're ready to begin adding your content. Once you have set up WebSite Tonight, you can easily make design changes, edit content, take advantage a large variety of extra features, and publish your site to the Internet.

To Set Up Your Web Site

NOTE: If you have a .MOBI domain name, you can only add mobile page layouts; you cannot add traditional page layouts.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. From My Products, click WebSite Tonight©.
  3. Click Launch next to the account you want to use.
  4. If you accept the terms of the End User License Agreement, click Accept.
  5. On the Site Settings page, complete the following fields and then click Next:
    Select an available domain from your account
    Select an existing domain name from the list.
    Enter a domain not registered in this account
    Enter your domain name in the space provided.
    Enter a subdomain
    Enter your subdomain name in the space provided and select an existing domain name from the list..
    User Name
    Create a user name that you will use when logging in to your WebSite Tonight site.
    Password and Confirm New Password
    Create and verify the password that you will use when logging in to your WebSite Tonight site.
    Email Address
    Forms submitted through your site will be sent to this email address
    Company or Individual Name
    Your company or individual name will be displayed in the footer of each Web page
  6. On the Build Your Site page, select one of the following:
    Pre-built Site
    Pre-built sites are complete Web sites that include content, images, page titles, and navigation buttons. Once you begin working with WebSite Tonight, you can easily replace existing content with your own. You can also change the design of your site at any time. For many users, this is quicker than building a Web site from scratch. There are many sites to choose from. To select a pre-built site, select a Site Type, select a Category, and then select a Pre-built Content option. You can preview the selected site in the Recommended Template area.
    Blank Site
    Selecting Blank Site will allow you to build a site from scratch. If you want to add pages to your Web site, click Add Page and enter a title for you page. This step is optional. You can also change the layout of each page of your site by clicking Change Layout for the page you want to change. You can add pages or change your layout at any time.
  7. Click Finish.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Web site. You can use the default template and continue to the Page Designer to begin building your site by clicking Build My Site. Or, to change your template before building your site, click Change My Template.

To Change Your Template

  1. On the Congratulations page, click Change My Template. The Templates tab displays.
  2. In the Available Templates area, you can do one of the following, and then click a template thumbnail to select it:
    • Scroll through the templates available in the Category you previously selected during setup.
    • Click Filter and complete the following for a more advanced search:
      Category
      Select a category that best describes the type of site you want to build.
      Templates that work with
      Click the icon(s) that represent the product(s) for which you want to use the template, and then click Update. For example, if you want your Web site to match your shopping cart, select both Site and Store so only templates that work with both display.

    NOTE: In the Available Templates area, change the color scheme of your template by clicking one of the color swatches next to the thumbnail of the template.

  3. Click OK.
