If you previously purchased your dedicated server without a control panel, you can purchase the upgrade to Plesk and reprovision your server with Plesk installed.

To purchase Plesk, follow the instructions on the Dedicated/Virtual Dedicated page of our Web site. Once you purchase Plesk, you can upgrade using the Dedicated Hosting Manager.

WARNING: Upgrading to a control panel requires that your server be reprovisioned and the operating system reloaded. Reprovisioning erases all of the content on the server hard drive. All of your data will be lost. We strongly recommend that you back up your data before initiating the control panel installation.

Your server will not be reprovisioned and your new control panel will not be installed until you initiate this process from your Dedicated Hosting Manager.

To Upgrade to Plesk on Your Server

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, select Servers.
  3. Click Launch Manager next to the dedicated or virtual dedicated server you want to upgrade. The Dedicated Hosting Manager opens.
  4. In the Account Summary section, click Initiate Control Panel Set Up. The Reprovision Server page opens.
  5. If you choose to, enter a new hostname and username. These values are defaulted to the current hostname and username for this account.
  6. Enter and confirm a new password and then click Submit.

You will receive a confirmation notice when your Plesk control panel upgrade is complete and you can access your account.

NOTE: Typically, your server will be ready in less than five hours. However, if you have a RAID card or hardware firewall, it may take up to 24 hours before your server is ready.
