To configure your dedicated server for external Web access:

  1. From the Start Menu, select Control Panel, and then double-click the Network Connections icon.
  2. In the Network Connections window, right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select  Properties.
  3. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) once to select it, and then click the Properties button.
  4. Click the Use the following DNS server addresses radio button and enter the following IP Addresses into the Preferred and Alternate DNS fields:

    Preferred DNS server: 216.69.160.2
    Alternate DNS server: 216.69.160.1

This will allow you to:

  • View external Web sites from your server.
  • Test various site modifications before you go live.
  • Browse the Web from your server.
  • Check your site from a different geographic location.
