Working with Attributes

Attributes provide a way for you to offer concise descriptions about particular products and are available to all products in your Quick Shopping Cart catalog. Once created, attributes are available to each product through the individual product page. Attributes are optional, you do not have to assign any attributes to a product.

You can assign attributes to products on the Products page. If you are adding a new product, click Advanced Form from the Tasks area to specify attributes. To create attributes for general use and not for a specific product, from the Catalog menu, select Attributes.

To Create Attributes

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
  4. From the Catalog menu, select Attributes.
  5. On the Create Attribute page, enter attribute rules.
  6. Click Save.

NOTE: Attributes are shown in the attribute list. You can edit, copy, and delete attributes on this page. You can access attribute information for specific products in the product editor (advanced form).

To Copy Attributes

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
  4. From the Catalog menu, select Attributes.
  5. On the Create Attribute page, click Copy next to the appropriate attribute in the list of available attributes.
  6. Enter a new name for the attribute in the Copy Attribute section of the page (above the attribute list).
  7. Click Save.

NOTE: If you do not make changes to the original attribute, an exact copy is added to your attributes list.

To Edit Attributes

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. On the Quick Shopping Cart page, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use. The Quick Shopping Cart application opens in a new window.
  4. From the Catalog menu, select Attributes.
  5. On the Create Attribute page, click Edit next to the appropriate attribute in the list of available attributes.
  6. Edit attribute information in the Edit Attribute section of the page (above the attribute list).
  7. Click Save.

NOTE: Attributes are shown in the attribute list. You can edit, copy, and delete attributes on this page. You can access attribute information for specific products in the product editor (advanced form).

To Delete Attributes

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
  4. From the Catalog menu, select Attributes.
  5. On the Create Attribute page, click Delete next to the appropriate attribute in the list of available attributes.
  6. Click OK to confirm.

NOTE: This step removes the attribute and makes it unavailable to all products. To delete an attribute from a specific product, go to the Attributes section in the product page (advanced form).

To Assign an Attribute to a Product

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
  4. From the Catalog menu, select Products.
  5. Click the name of the product you want to modify.
  6. Expand the Attributes section.
  7. In the Attributes section, assign existing attributes to the product by selecting from the list of available attributes, and then clicking Add.

NOTE: Click Add Attribute to add a new attribute to the system.
