Changing Norton Security Settings to Allow Web-Based Email

To utilize all the features of Web-Based Email, you need to change your firewall security settings to allow pop-ups.

NOTE: These changes apply specifically to Web-Based Email and will only allow pop-ups from your email account.

To Change the Firewall Settings for Norton Internet Security 2005 or 2006

  1. Open Internet Explorer or your Web browser.
  2. Log in to your Web-Based Email account.
  3. Click the NIS(for 2005), or Norton Internet Security(for 2006) icon on the address bar toolbar.
  4. Uncheck Block pop-ups from this Web site.

To Disable the Norton 2006 Ad Blocker

  1. Open the Norton 2006 program installed on your computer.
  2. From the Options drop-down menu, select Norton Antispam.
  3. Under Ad Blocking, select General.
  4. Uncheck the box next to Turn on Pop-up Window Blocking.
  5. Click OK.

NOTE: You must turn off both the pop-up blocker and the ad blocker in Norton 2006.

To Change the Firewall Settings for Norton Internet Security 2004

  1. Click on Ad Blocking, and select Configure.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Click on Web Contents, and select Add Site.
  4. Add http://email.secureserver.net to the list of sites.
  5. Click the User Settings tab, and uncheck Use Ad Blocking settings.
  6. Select Permit.

To Change the Firewall Settings for Norton Internet Security 2003

  1. Click on Options, and select Web Content.
  2. Select Add Site.
  3. Add http://email.secureserver.net to the list of sites.
  4. Click the User Settings tab, and uncheck Use Ad Blocking settings.
  5. Select Permit.

NOTE: You must clear your browser's cache and restart your browser for the new settings to take effect.
