Setting up Your Email on Mozilla Thunderbird

You can configure Thunderbird™ to access the email messages on your email account using POP or IMAP. While these screenshots are from v2.0.0, these settings are similar in other versions of Thunderbird.

Setting Up Your Email in Thunderbird

  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings.
  2. In the window that pops up, select Add Account
  3. In the New Account Setup window, select Email Account and click Continue.
  4. In the Identity window, enter your Name and Email Address and click Continue.
  5. For Server Information, select the account type, POP or IMAP, then enter pop.secureserver.net in the Incoming Server box and smtpout.secureserver.net in the Outgoing Server box.
  6. In User Names, enter your Email Address for incoming and outgoing username, then click Continue.
  7. For Account Name, enter your preference for naming this account listing, then click Continue.
  8. On the Congratulations screen, preview your account information to be sure it's all accurate then click Done.
