Binding Additional IP Addresses in My Dedicated Windows Hosting Account

If you have recently ordered additional IP addresses for a dedicated Windows server, you must complete these steps before you can actually use the additional IP addresses.

To Bind Additional IP Addresses in Your Dedicated Windows 2003 Server

  1. Log in to Remote Desktop.
  2. Go to Control Panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection.
  3. Right-click on Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Click Add and add the new IP, with 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.

To Bind Additional IP Addresses in Your Dedicated Windows 2008 Server

  1. Log into your server via Remote Desktop.
  2. Open the server's Start menu and select Control Panel.
  3. Double-click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.
  4. Click on the Manage Network Connections link on the left.
  5. Right click on the icon representing your server's network card and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button.
  7. Click the Advanced button.
  8. Click the Add button under the IP addresses section of the IP Settings tab.
  9. Enter the IP address and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and click the Add button.
  10. Click the OK button to close the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window.
  11. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.
  12. Click the Close button to close out of the Local Area Connection Properties window.

NOTE: IP address allocation is monitored. Attempting to add IP addresses to your server that have not been purchased is a violation of your terms of service agreement and may result in the suspension of your account.
