If you're eligible to register a .ca domain and the domain is available, you can submit a registration request. To process the registration, you must have an account through the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA). If you do not have a CIRA registrant account prior to processing a registration for your .ca domain, you must confirm your account through CIRA to complete the registration. For more information, see What is the process for registering .ca domains?.

To Register a .ca Domain

  1. On our home page, in the Start your domain search here! field, enter the domain, select .ca from the list, click Go, and then proceed through the screens.
  2. On the Registration and Checkout Options page, in the .CA Eligibility Confirmation area, complete the following:
    Preferred Language
Specifies the language you want to use to manage your account through CIRA.
    Registrant Name
The name of the registrant contact.
Select the legal type that best describes you
The individual or entity type that describes you.
  3. Continue through the checkout process.

Your .ca domain is associated with a Preset Profile in the Domain Manager. You can only manage your .ca domain through the Preset Profile; you cannot manage your .ca domains through the All My Domains grid. For more information about accessing your .ca domains, see Viewing Your .ca Domains.
