Creating a Subdomain That Is Forwarded to an IP Address

Subdomains are extensions of your own domain(s) that you can forward to URLs, IP addresses, or directories within your hosting account. For example, if your domain name is example.com, you can create a subdomain like subdomain.example.com. Subdomains can be up to 25 characters long.

To Create a Subdomain that is Forwarded to an IP address in the Domain Manager

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. From the Domain Names menu, click Manage Domains. The Domain Manager opens.
  3. In your list of domain names, click on the domain name you want to use to create a subdomain.The details for the selected domain display on the page.
  4. In the Total DNS Control section, click Total DNS Control and MX Records.
  5. In the A (Host) area, click the Add New A Record button.
  6. In the Host Name field, enter the subdomain name you want to use.
  7. In the Points To Ip Address field, enter the IP address you want your subdomain to point to.
  8. Click OK.
