Starting May 1, 2008, Site Analytics has a new data retention policy regarding statistics and raw log files.

Statistics Retention Policy

The reporting statistics for Site Analytics are retained for thirteen months, allowing you to compare traffic patterns for your Web site between the current month and the same month one year ago. The statistics include data from the Summary, Visitor, Page, Referrer, and Server reports. Once a week, any statistics older than thirteen months are summarized and transferred to the History Report. The History Report only displays after statistics are transferred for the first time. See the following article for more information History Reports.

Raw Log File Retention Policy

Raw log files are retained on our servers for six months. Raw log files are simple text files that contain the details of your visitors' data to your Web site including what pages they viewed, when they visited the sites, and what operating system they used. Site Analytics allows you to download the log files to your own computer, so you can create your own archive.

To Download Raw Log Files from Site Analytics

  1. Login to your Site Analytics account.
  2. Click Logs.
  3. Do one of the following:
  • Click archive.zip to download a group of log file
  • Click a log file name to download an individual log file.
  • Open the file or save it to your computer.
