During your hosting account purchase, set up, and management, you create a number of accounts that are used to access different interfaces related to your hosted Web site. Each account is protected with a user name and password. These account interfaces and their functions are explained below:

Account Manager
The Account Manager interface is used for your hosted site's administrative tasks and is tied to the account under which your hosting was purchased. The login name and password that were supplied during the checkout process are used to access this interface. The management of all products, not just hosting, takes place in the Account Manager.

Functions: account balances, operating system changes, adding ColdFusion, applying Site Analytics, adding dedicated IP addresses

Hosting Control Center
It is through the Hosting Control Center interface that the set up and management of your hosted site takes place. It is accessed through the Account Manager interface and shares the same account. Thus, no separate login name and password is required.

Functions: management of account settings, content, databases, and site statistics

FTP
The login name and password specified to activate your hosted site is used to automatically create a default FTP user account. This account information must be supplied if using a third-party FTP client to upload site content. You can create additional FTP user accounts for a single hosted site through the Hosting Control Center for any Linux hosting plan. For more information, see Creating Additional FTP Users on your Linux Shared Hosting Account. These account login name/password combinations must be unique.

Functions: uploading site content

Web statistics
When Web statistics are enabled, you can access the reporting interface through the Hosting Control Center. By default, the same login name and password as your default FTP user account grants access to your Web Statistics. However, using the Hosting Control Center, you can specify a unique login name and password for accessing site statistics.

Functions: accessing Web statistics

Databases
If your hosted site requires the storage of data, an account is created for each database that is created. The login name/password combination for each database account must be unique.

Functions: Database management, including the creation and maintenance of tables and stored procedures
