Setting Hot Key Options

With Quick Blogcast, you can set up hot keys to insert text in your comments using the Ctrl key and any available keystroke. Hot keys are a convenient way to repeat the same phrase in multiple comments without retyping the comment. For example, you may want to create a hot key that inserts the phrase, "Thank you for your comments. We will carefully consider your suggestions for a future release of our product."

Note: Certain hot key combinations will not work correctly if they are already mapped by your browser. For instance, CTRL+C is already mapped for the Copy function in most browsers.

To Set a Hot Key

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
  3. Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
  4. From the Manage Blog menu, click Settings.
  5. Go to the Hot Keys tab.
  6. Click Add New Hot Key.
  7. In the CTRL + field, enter the key you want to use to insert the Hot Key text.
  8. In the Replacement Text field, specify the text you want to insert when pressing the Hot Key combination.
  9. Click Save.

To Edit a Hot Key

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
  3. Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
  4. From the Manage Blog menu, click Settings.
  5. Click the Hot Keys tab.
  6. Click the Edit button for the hot key you want to edit.
  7. Edit the hot key information.
  8. Click Save.
